I promise I am not just ignoring all of you! I have been, and continue to be so busy! With my kids, my house, my job, my bookclub, VBS....I have no problem filling my days.
Lately, my biggest task has been taking on writing an Armor of God curriculum for my preschoolers at church. I have been wanting to do an Armor of God study since I first started my job last June. Since then, I have spent many months looking for that perfect, age appropriate curriculum, but nothing has captured me. Mostly because of the age group--3 to 5 years. Not much out there for our little ones in this particular theme. So, finally about 2 weeks ago I decided I was just going to have to write one myself. It has been on my heart for almost a year, and I figured if God wants me to do it, He will provide the resources and the motivation I need to get the job done. Well, like we all know, God is faithful to His promises and I can say with all confidence that this curriculum is going to be great! I am so excited about presenting it to my team of teachers and volunteers. I have designed it to be a starting structure for what I want the final product to be. I want to include my teachers in on the process too. So, they will all be getting a copy of what I have written and have been given instructions to add to it (ideas, comments, different ways of wording, etc.) as they see fit. I cannot wait to see what we as a team can come up with. It will be a great resource for our preschoolers in the many years to come! The intro into the Armor of God will start this sunday, March 4th and continue through the spring quarter. Pray that my students and my teachers are able to receive all that God has in store for them through this study.
Ok, so if it hasn't been the Armor of God, my time could be planning for this year's VBS. Along with the elementary children's minister, I am preparing and getting ready for our Galilee by the Sea themed VBS. We will be presenting our vision for this year's theme in just a few weeks during a friday night get together at the church. It should be fun....I'm very excited about this theme too!
Also, I have just recently joined a bookclub with some ladies in my church. The plan is to meet once a month and discuss a book and fellowship with each other. This past sunday night was my first meeting, after reading "The Persian Pickle Club". I have to say it took me a little while to get into the book, but I ended up loving it in the end. We just got assigned our next book to read for the month of march. "Plainsong" by Kent Haruf. I'll let you know how it is in a few weeks.
Other things with my job include a workshop this saturday with my core team, hosting this month's Corporate leadership prayer potluck at my home, regularly scheduled monthy meetings with leadership and my VBS vison night at the end of the month. March is turning out to be very busy.
My kiddos are enjoying school, ballet, soccer (in the next few weeks) and anything else that pops up. They always keep me busy!
My house is just dirty! I try, but it never stays clean!
One of my favorite things I'm doing right now is planning my hubby's 30th birthday bash in may. For all of you that know me, you know I don't wait to the last minute to plan anything....especially parties!!! I'm so excited about all the details, of which I cannot divulge at this time, but I'll keep you uptodate as the party gets closer. I will say, that it is going to keep a smile on his face for days and weeks after. It's going to be BIG!!!!
Oh, and if all this wasn't enough....we are about to buy a pop-up camper in hopes to go on a great vacation at the end of march. I'm not revealing the location as of yet, because nothing is set in stone yet, but I will say.....YOU WILL BE JEALOUS!
I think that may be most of my life for now. I'm sure I'm leaving out a few things, but obviously they are not taking up as much time as the above items, so I guess they're not that important.
