The Magic of DVR

I was introduced to the magic of the DVR last summer after coming home from a two week trip to Louisiana. My husband purchased this electronic marvel while I was away. I guess he got bored! Thank God for boredom! It has been 8 months since I started using it and I am still in awe. I don't know how I got along without it. What a horrible life I must have had before. Commercial packed shows, recording and re-recording over old VHS tapes, missing crucial plots of "My Name is Earl" episodes, etc... Those of you who have the DVR know all too well what I'm talking about. Those of you without it I just feel plain sorry for you. The relationship I have developed with my precious DVR is a special one. Every night after the kids are bathed and in bed, the dishes are clean in the kitchen and it is time for total relaxation I press that wonderful button at the top of my remote to see what my "buddy" has recorded for me for the day. I can't seem to describe in words the feeling that comes over me when I see that I have 3-4 hours of great T.V. right there just waiting for me to hit "play". Ahh! Life is good! The only problem I have from this point on is deciding whether or not to watch "Related" (the best show on t.v.), "Extreme Makeover Home Edition" (very close to my heart), or my Thursday night ensemble, "Four Kings", "My Name is Earl", "The Office", and "ER". I have gotten so spoiled! I find it almost excruciating to have to suffer through the "live" episodes now. What has come over me? I'm a DVR junkie! It is the best thing that could have happened to this busy mother of three. What are you waiting for? Go get yours today.
